Repair Process
At Gravel Blasters we specialize in gravel driveway repair. If you have a driveway that is full of potholes and it seems like you have tried everything to get rid of them, but they just keep coming back, Gravel Blasters has you covered and usually without having to add more gravel to the driveway.
Gravel driveways will eventually get potholes it is just the nature of gravel and being in Michigan with the freeze thaw affect our gravel driveways can really take a beating. However, there are things that can be done to improve your driveway so that you won't have as many potholes and you won't get them as often.
The first thing we look for is the crown of the driveway. Is the driveway higher in the middle and lower on the sides? If not, this causes the driveway to hold water and this can cause potholes. How we fix this issue is simply to push gravel from the sides toward the middle of the driveway to give it a nice rounded crown. As we do this we also break up those pesky potholes by digging all the way to the bottom of the hole to break up the pothole structure. Once these two things are done we grade the driveway smooth.
